With more than 30 years of coaching experience, JP Favretto brings a lifelong passion for athletics, teaching, and player development to his role as Head Pickleball Professional at Shoreline Pickleball.

JP works with players of all ages and skill levels, from those picking up a paddle for the first time to experienced competitors looking to elevate their game. While he believes drilling and strong fundamentals are essential, JP’s coaching goes beyond technique. He places a strong emphasis on strategy, shot selection, and developing a player’s Pickleball IQ—helping players understand not just how to execute a shot, but when and why to use it.

This approach can be especially valuable for players who feel stuck at the 3.0 or 3.5 level and are ready to make the transition to more advanced play. For higher-level competitors, JP focuses on the finer points of decision-making, positioning, pattern recognition, and strategy that can take an already strong game to an entirely new level.

JP is a Certified DUPR Coach and holds Level 1 and Junior Instructor (JSC) certifications through the International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA), as well as the Certified Rating Specialist (CRS-4) credential. He is also an experienced tournament director and national-level Pickleball competitor, giving him firsthand insight into both recreational and competitive play.

Whether the goal is mastering the fundamentals, breaking through a rating plateau, becoming a smarter player, or competing at a higher level, JP tailors his instruction to the individual. His goal is for players to leave the court not only playing better, but seeing and understanding the game differently.
